One couple. Two bikes. One common goal – to raise money for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
On June 16th, 2015 at 8 am, we set peddle on our bikes for a journey lasting approximately 950 km. Our starting point was the Saint-Sacrement Hospital in beautiful Quebec City. The reason for starting here is Marilyne’s Mum got to know this hospital quite well before succumbing to breast cancer on August 17th, 2014. Our final destination was Princess Margaret Hospital in downtown Toronto, where Jason’s Mum spend many months before succumbing to her struggle with breast cancer on May 7th, 2010. It was a journey of spirit, determination and hope not only for these two women, but for the unfortunate reality of millions of others fighting.
As often the women fighting have a never-ending struggle, we believe Pink Future should continually encourage these woman and provide inspiration for the years to come. That’s why in July of 2016, we’ll be doing the trip we did last year, this time going back to Quebec City on our bikes from Toronto. Our starting point will be Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto and we will peddle almost 1, 000 km to end our journey at Saint-Sacrement Hospital in Quebec City. We learnt so much from our first trip and wish to apply all what we learnt in 2015 to an even better adventure this 2016. We want to thank every single person for their donations. To date, we’ve raised over $5,000 and wish to continue raising even more money. Our donations page is managed and operated by the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and all donations go directly to supporting them. Each donation we receive not only inspires us to peddle harder, but also will help support our goal of one day finding a cure.
